The Addams Family

Annual school production of

The Addams Family

Bentley Wood’s highly anticipated annual production of The Addams Family was a wickedly entertaining showcase of student talent, creativity, and collaboration. The event was the culmination of months of rehearsal and planning, with the Music and Drama departments working closely with Art and Textiles to bring the musical to life through a series of stunning performances enjoyed by families and students from local schools.

The cast impressed audiences with their comedic timing and vocal virtuosity, while the set design and make-up team transported us into the quirky world of the Addams Family, and the technical team worked their magic with expertly crafted lighting and sound. Beyond the laughter and applause, the show carried an important message about acceptance and celebrating individuality — a theme that resonated strongly within our school community. Congratulations to the entire cast, crew and staff for an outstanding production that will be remembered for years to come.

My time doing the productions at Bentley Wood has been amazing! Although this is probably my last one, throughout all 4 years of the production I have enjoyed all the stressful moments, from rehearsing every Tuesday and Thursday, to stressful costume changes and even crazy mic checks, the whole thing has been a blast! The Addams Family this year was quite a journey. Being Wednesday, there have been lots of challenges and some hard moments but we all know that it’s worth it in the end when the production comes together and looks brilliant! I am so grateful that BWHS has given me these amazing opportunities to find my personality through performing arts!

During my rehearsal I had so much fun, it was very enjoyable. I was the dancer and my character was the aunt sister. I was so excited to perform in front of the audience. At first, I felt very nervous however as I kept on attending my rehearsals I gained my confidence and started to love it.

This year’s musical was so fun: it was actually my first! I made a ton of new friends, made some great memories at rehearsals and overall just an amazing experience as Morticia. Such a core memory for me and I’m quite honestly super distraught about it being over. Everyone did amazing: I’ll miss my stage family!

Performing in this year’s production of Addams Family the Musical has been amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed performing as Uncle Fester, the loveable eccentric of the family. I’ve never played such an odd character before, but the challenges were definitely worth it. I had the opportunity to dabble with techniques like improvisation, which has helped me improve as an actress. Overall, the experience has been sensational, and I will miss it greatly.
