Dear Parents and Carers,
As we move into our exam season I would like to start this letter by wishing our Year 11, 12 and 13 students all the best for their exams and thanking staff and families for the support they have given and continue to give. The students have worked really hard and have shown great resilience and determination over the course of the year. They are role models to us all.
In the Year 13 leavers assembly our head student, Isma, moved us to tears as she spoke to her peers, looking back fondly over the past seven years at Bentley Wood. The Year 11s said good-bye to their uniform, collecting signatures and meaningful messages from everyone that has supported them along the way.
We have had a half term of new experiences, starting with live music from a professional string trio, a group of musicians opening our eyes to the beauty and emotions of classical music. We ended the half term with the Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition taking place one Saturday. Sixty-two Year 10 students explored routes from Stanmore to Aldenham and back, opening their eyes to local attractions while testing their strength, skill and perseverance along the way.
We have plenty to look forward to in the last half term with Sports Day, Awards Evening and Activity Days ahead of us.
Let us come together in encouraging all the students to continue to take full advantage of the wonderful extracurricular opportunities available to them at Bentley Wood.
Enjoy this half-term’s Newsletter.
My very best wishes to you all. Naseema Akbar Headteacher
