Dear Parent /Carers

We are extremely proud of the girls and I am sure you agree, they are great. All of the girls have returned to school with such a positive attitude to learning. They have shown their appreciation of being back in school with their teachers and support staff. The appreciation is mutual. All of our staff have been saying how great it is to be back face to face with the girls.

We welcome our new Year 7 parents and carers to our newsletter. You will see that Year 7 feature across the pages. They are a delightful year group who are already very much part of our Bentley Wood family. Do see all of the different activities that Year 7 have been involved with in the following pages.

Our year of reading is continuing throughout 2020/21. The girls do visit the library on a rota basis during break and lunch. They really enjoy their time and are borrowing lots of books. Every Friday during registration the girls read their own novel for twenty minutes. They also do lots of reading throughout the day during their different lessons. We expect all students to read every day at home. 6th Form students, in particular, will be reading extensively around the subjects they are studying.

Lunchtime and after school clubs have started for some year groups. With all of the changes to systems and routines and having to keep to bubbles we decided to start these off gradually. More clubs and enrichment will be taking place after half term.

With my very best wishes
