The 16 to 19 tuition fund is one-off funding for the 2020 to 2021 academic year only. It is intended to mitigate the disruption to learning arising from coronavirus (COVID-19). The funding is being provided to support small group tuition for 16 to 19 students in English, maths, and other courses where learning has been disrupted.
Support is being prioritised where students will benefit most from small group tuition, and particular regard is being given to the requirements of disadvantaged students and students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
How is Bentley Wood Sixth Form using this Fund?
Bentley Wood Sixth Form will use its 16-19 Tuition Fund allocation to recruit Saturday tutors and provide extra classes after school to target support at students aged 16-19 who are on full-time study programmes, who will benefit from small group support in achieving Grade 4 or above in English and/or maths. Furthermore, we will provide extra lessons to improve study habits alongside access to online tuition programmes throughout the year.
The Sixth Form is committed to ensuring that the tuition fund is used in accordance with the Government’s guidance on the 16 to 19 Tuition Fund by:
